It's the end of an era. The clash in the Twelve Kingdoms could be as devastating as when the gods fought in the heavens, thousands of years ago. Eudda is a young half-Iluvi and oneiromancer, but she doesn't dream of what's about to happen in her life: she's suddenly expelled from Lis Castle and loses contact with everyone she's known since birth. Willing to risk everything to prevent a prophecy, she finds help from those she least expects.

 Hesfer, Eudda's cousin, descends from the noblest of the Iluves. After her path crosses with that of the Children of Ravarog, the girl must gather strength to learn to control her gift while deciding which side she will take: her mother's or her people's. Ydirel, Hesfer's uncle, welcomes the request of an Iluves stranger seeking training. The mysteries surrounding the lady, however, both seduce him and arouse his suspicions.

 The return of a race thought extinct threatens the peace of all peoples. Since the end of the last empire, the world has never witnessed a confrontation as epic as the one unfolding at the Yalif Oasis and its pyramids, protected by the Bone Guard and the scene of haunting legends.
